DEVIZES JUNIOR WINTER LEAGUE 2014-15
We entered two teams into the league this year an U12’s and U14’s, the matches were played once a month on Sundays at Devizes Leisure Centre on the outside courts, we were very lucky with the weather this season and not one match was cancelled.
U12
Final Position 2nd
The squad were a very keen and committed group of 11 girls, making themselves available for most matches, therefore we worked on a rota basis taking 9 players to each match.
All players made great improvements throughout the season, especially with their knowledge of the game, ball skills and footwork.
They played 11 matches, won 7, lost 4 and draw 1, some of the games they lost were very close only losing by 2 or 3 goals.
After each game the coach chooses a player of the match, and at the end of the season a trophy is awarded to the player with the most. This season the ‘Coaches Player’ was presented to Beth Robinson Well Done.
U14
Final Position 3rd
The squad consisted of 10 players, mostly year 8’s and just a couple of year 9’s, unfortunately once the season got started the team had quite a few injuries and sickness, therefore on some occasions they had to call on players from the U12 team to help out. All the players worked extremely hard in all the matches as some were quite tough, but great improvements were made by all players and being involved in league matches gives the girls the standard of play they need to esquire to.
They played 12 matches, won 5, lost 6 and draw 1, the ‘Coaches Player’ this season was presented to Molly Morrison, Well Done
I personally and the club we would like to thank Trudie Procter for all her hard work organising the league once again this season.
